We're looking for a detail-driven Garment Technician / Production Coordinator to join the Unison Womenswear team and support the end-to-end product development process across our seasonal collections. Working closely with the Production Manager and Design & Buying teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring product is delivered on time, to specification, and to the highest quality standards.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced fashion environment and enjoys working across fittings, offshore production, supplier communication, and technical product development.
THE ROLE:
- Prepare and manage detailed production style packs and tech packs for offshore suppliers
- Coordinate the product development process from sampling through to bulk production
- Maintain production schedules, tracking lab dips, trims, fabrics, fittings, and approvals
- Measure garments against specifications and lead offshore fit sessions
- Communicate fit, construction, and workmanship comments clearly to suppliers
- Support cost negotiations and cross-costing activities to achieve target margins
- Liaise daily with factories, suppliers, and agents to ensure delivery timelines are met
- Approve care instructions and maintain accurate production documentation and buy plans
- Manage sample organisation including proto, PP, and shipment samples
- Conduct competitor and store visits to review product quality and market trends
- On-site role 5-days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- 3+ years' experience in garment technology, production coordination, or a similar apparel role
- Previous experience working with offshore production within womenswear
- Strong understanding of garment construction, grading, fittings, and size specifications
- Experience across both woven and cut-and-sew product categories
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with confidence liaising with offshore suppliers and internal teams
- Advanced skills across Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and Adobe Illustrator
- Experience in pattern making will be highly regarded
