Prepress Operator – Flexographic & Digital Printing

We are looking for an experienced Prepress Operator to join our Melbourne team based in Campbellfield Victoria.
This is a great opportunity for someone with solid experience in Flexographic & Digital printing, a strong eye for detail, and practical experience using PACKZ software (Training available) would be beneficial. About the Role
As our Prepress Operator, you will play an important part in preparing customer artwork for flexographic print production and ensuring files are accurate, technically correct and ready for efficient manufacturing.
Working closely with our production, customer service and wider prepress teams, you will help maintain high standards of print quality while ensuring jobs move smoothly through the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and checking artwork for flexographic & digital printing
- Using PACKZ software for artwork preparation, trapping, colour separation and file optimisation
- Reviewing supplied artwork and identifying potential print or production issues
- Preparing print-ready files, step-and-repeat layouts and associated production files
- Managing colour separations, trapping, overprints and technical print requirements
- Liaising with production and customer service teams to resolve artwork queries
- Ensuring artwork complies with customer specifications and internal quality standards
- Maintaining accurate job records and prepress documentation
- Supporting continuous improvement across the prepress and production process
About You
We are looking for someone who brings both technical capability and a positive, team-focused attitude.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience in a flexographic printing prepress environment
- Strong working knowledge and practical experience with PACKZ software
- Good understanding of flexographic printing processes and requirements
- Experience with colour separation, trapping, screening and print-ready artwork preparation
- Strong Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Creative Suite skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- The ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities in a busy manufacturing environment
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production and customer service teams
- A strong commitment to quality and accuracy
Experience within the labels and packaging industry would be highly regarded.
