Full Job Description

Fumax Pty Ltd is a leading agricultural fumigation and pest management company servicing grain growers, grain storage facilities, bunkers, warehouses, export sites, feedlots and agricultural businesses throughout Australia.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an Agricultural & Agritech Technician to join our team based in Narrabri, NSW.

This is a diverse and hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, travelling to different sites and being involved in all aspects of agricultural pest management, grain protection and fumigation operations.

The successful applicant will work across a range of agricultural environments throughout Northern NSW and beyond, assisting with pest monitoring, grain storage inspections, fumigation programs, biosecurity activities and technical field services for our clients.

Key Duties Include:

Conducting inspections of grain storages, bunkers, warehouses, export facilities and agricultural sites.
Monitoring and identifying insect pest activity and assessing treatment requirements.
Assisting with the planning, preparation and implementation of fumigation programs.
Carrying out bunker sealing, fumigation set-up, gas monitoring and treatment verification activities.
Collecting, recording and maintaining accurate field data, treatment records and compliance documentation.
Assisting clients with grain protection, pest management and biosecurity requirements.
Operating, maintaining and calibrating monitoring, testing and application equipment.
Supporting grain quality assurance and export compliance programs through monitoring and reporting activities.
Preparing technical reports and recommendations for clients.
Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety, environmental and biosecurity requirements.
Travelling to client sites throughout Northern NSW and regional Australia as required.

The Successful Applicant Will Have:

Relevant qualifications in Agriculture, Agricultural Technology, Rural Science or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
Experience within agriculture, grain handling, pest management, fumigation or a related industry.
Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A current driver's licence.
A strong work ethic and willingness to travel and work in regional areas.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

Grain storage and grain protection experience.
Bunker fumigation experience.
Knowledge of stored grain pests and biosecurity practices.
Experience working at grain handling, bulk commodity or export facilities.
Chemical accreditation, fumigation licences or related industry certifications.

Salary package of $90,000 – $110,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience and qualifications.
