About the Opportunity

Are you a highly commercial and operationally driven Building Manager looking to step up and take ownership of a diverse, premium portfolio?

Due to extended commercial growth, Synergy Asset Services is seeking an experienced, multi-site Building Manager to join our Facilities Management team. In this pivotal role, you will take full accountability for the end-to-end service delivery, statutory compliance, and asset lifecycle management across your designated portfolio in Sydney’s Inner West.

Key Responsibilities

As the primary point of contact for your multi-site portfolio, you will balance on-site operational excellence with strategic facilities management. Your core responsibilities will include:

Asset & Site Management: Conduct regular, comprehensive on-site inspections to ensure premium asset presentation, operational efficiency, and adherence to all WHS and statutory compliance regulations.

Maintenance & Lifecycle Strategy: Oversee the end-to-end Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance programs. Identify trends to assist with lifecycle planning and defect management.

Vendor & Contractor Management: Procure, engage, and manage external contractors, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to strict SLAs/KPIs.

Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the strategic liaison between internal management, external contractors, strata committees, and residents, driving high client satisfaction and resolving complex escalations.

Emergency Response: Act as the key escalation point for your portfolio, participating in an on-call capacity to triage and manage critical after-hours emergencies or building faults.

Systems & Reporting: Utilize modern CAFM/BMS platforms to accurately log data, issue work orders, track compliance metrics, and deliver operational reports to senior management.

About You (The Ideal Candidate)

We are looking for a proactive, commercially astute professional who thrives in a hands-on, field-based environment. To succeed, you will demonstrate:

Experience: 3+ years of comprehensive Facilities Management / Building Management experience managing multi-site portfolios, or a highly comparable background in Project Management or Premium Hospitality leadership.

Technical Acumen: Strong working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), essential safety measures (ESM), and experience with systems such as Google Suite, MYBOS, BuildingLink, or StrataMax is highly regarded.

Commercial Focus: Proven experience managing maintenance budgets, interpreting quotes, and driving cost-effective facility solutions without compromising on quality.

Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders, negotiate with vendors, and present complex information clearly in person, over the phone, and via email.

Organizational Rigor: Impeccable time-management skills; capable of autonomously prioritizing competing deadlines while moving between sites.

Mobility & Availability: A current Australian driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, the competence to travel safely across the Inner-West region, and the ability to respond to after-hours emergencies when on call.
