About This Opportunity

This is an Expressions of Interest campaign for future Supported Independent Living leadership opportunities.

As new SIL services commence, successful applicants may be offered casual or part-time employment based on participant needs, service commencement dates and operational requirements.

Work locations will vary across metropolitan Melbourne depending on participant locations and organisational requirements.

Your Role

As a SIL Team Leader, you will lead and support frontline Disability Support Workers while helping create safe, stable and person-centred environments for participants with complex support needs.

Working alongside Registered Nurses, allied health professionals, Support Coordinators and operational leaders, you will promote professional practice, mentor staff and contribute to positive participant outcomes.

Your responsibilities may include:

Leading, mentoring and supporting Disability Support Workers.
Promoting a positive, accountable and collaborative team culture.
Implementing participant support plans and Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
Monitoring participant wellbeing and responding appropriately to emerging risks.
Completing accurate, objective and timely documentation.
Supporting incident reporting, safeguarding and continuous improvement.
Ensuring services align with the NDIS Practice Standards, organisational policies and relevant legislation.
Building positive relationships with participants, families and stakeholders.

What You'll BringEssential

Experience as a SIL Team Leader, Senior Disability Support Worker or similar leadership role.
Experience supporting participants with complex disability support needs.
Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
Strong leadership, communication and documentation skills.
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
Current Australian Driver Licence.
Reliable, registered and insured motor vehicle where travel forms part of the role.
Willingness to travel across metropolitan Melbourne as reasonably required.
Australian working rights.

Desirable

Certificate IV in Disability, Individual Support or Community Services.
Diploma or higher qualification in Community Services or a related discipline.
Experience supporting participants requiring High Intensity Supports.
Medication administration competency.
Knowledge of restrictive practice requirements.
Experience using electronic care management systems.
