About Us

Melbourne Party Hire Co is a fast-growing event hire business servicing Melbourne 7 days a week. Based in Oakleigh VIC, we supply a wide range of equipment — from chairs, tables, and marquees to glow furniture, lighting, and staging — for events of all sizes across Melbourne.

With a team of 30+ staff, a fleet of 7 trucks, and over 200 product lines, we are Melbourne's trusted one-stop event hire solution for residential, corporate, school, and council clients.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and organised Office Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day administrative operations of our growing business. Reporting directly to the Director and General Manager, this is a senior coordination role that spans office administration, team management, compliance, and operational support — keeping all moving parts of Melbourne Party Hire Co running smoothly and efficiently.

This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Oakleigh warehouse and office, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

· Contribute to the planning and review of office services, setting priorities and office service standards to support the efficient delivery of event hire operations

· Allocate human resources, workspace and equipment across the office and warehouse teams

· Assign work to and monitor the work performance of office support, warehouse, and logistics staff

· Manage records and accounts of the office, including booking records, supplier invoices, customer files, and financial documents

· Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to coordinate business operations and facilitate resolution of problems

· Ensure office equipment and supplies are maintained and operational at all times

· Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations across the office and warehouse environment

· Ensure all business activities comply with relevant government legislation, policies and procedures

· Coordinate personnel activities including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, payroll processing, training and supervision of staff

What We're Looking For

Qualifications (Required):

· Minimum AQF Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Associate Degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (ANZSCO 512111 Skill Level 2 — or equivalent AQF qualification)

· At least 3 years of relevant experience in office management, business administration, or a related supervisory role

Skills & Attributes:

· Proven ability to manage and lead a team — allocating tasks, monitoring performance, and driving accountability

· Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

· Experience managing office records, accounts, and administrative systems with a high degree of accuracy

· Sound understanding of workplace health and safety obligations and relevant business compliance requirements

· Confident communicator who can liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, drivers, and internal staff

· Experience with inventory or business management systems (Hirepos experience is a plus, not essential)

· Current driver's licence required
