Wesfarmers OneDigital is building Australia's leading data and digital retail ecosystem, underpinned by AI across everything we do. We operate across four pillars — loyalty, data, retail media and AI — turning millions of customer interactions into insights that shape how Australians shop, live and connect.

The Commercial team is responsible for driving accurate and timely financial and commercial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and long-term strategy planning. Together, these activities ensure a satisfactory return on capital and transparency for key stakeholders.

The primary responsibility of this position is commercial partnering to OneDigital. This includes preparation of business cases, management reporting, forecasting, strategic planning, annual budget preparation, and overall supporting commercial discipline throughout the BU.

Additionally, the role involves driving continual process improvements to enhance ways of working, and supporting the increased adoption of AI to support productivity.

As the OneDigital business embarks on it’s strategic objectives, including pursuing internal and external growth initiatives, the Commercial Manager provides timely and robust commercial guidance on the impacts to the business, including functional recommendations to ensure all operating deliverables can be achieved.

Key responsibilities

Support business initiatives and reviews, including assisting with strategy initiatives specifically around correct business case preparation and reporting
Accountable for commercial impact assessment on initiatives, investment and business case preparation, post implementation review
Analyse key business drivers to develop commercial insights that enable the business to deliver improved performance
Identify and implement business process changes, standardise processes, and utilise automation benefits to eliminate low-value activities within the OneDigital team
Support the Head of Commercial to deliver commercial insights and reporting for OneDigital
Complete and review quarterly / monthly commercial reporting for OneDigital. Monitor business performance against objectives, KPI tracking and risks and opportunities - present this to key stakeholders as needed.
Coach the broader OneDigital team in commercial excellence and quality commercial processes and outcome
Day-to-day financial management
Establish and nurture strong connections while maintaining highly trusted relationships with key business partners and stakeholders.
Ability to step in and cover for the Head of Commercial if required
Support OneDigital’s constituent businesses and project teams to develop and execute commercial plans
Review and stress test commercial inputs of the OneDigital team
Process improvement and automation of manual tasks

Skills / Experience required

10+ years’ experience in Finance related roles with a minimum 3 years' finance manager role
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance related discipline
CPA/CA qualification
Previous staff supervision experience, and leadership development experience
FMCG, Retail or ecommerce experience an advantage
Demonstrated ability to navigate complexity
Proven ability to develop effective partnerships between support and business functions
Forecasting and budgeting experience
Excellent commercial and financial modelling skills
Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
Critical and objective thinker with strong, cross functional problem-solving skills
Advanced Excel with experience with large data manipulation
Experience using large and small ERP systems & BI tools (SAP, Xero, BPC, PowerBI)
