The General Manager - Digital Innovation is a forward-focused executive leadership role within eComX, reporting to the Director of Digital Commerce Experiences. Responsible for driving digital customer experience transformation and technological innovation, this leader owns the digital innovation roadmap, expanding the brand's digital tools and footprint while managing a multidisciplinary delivery tribe. By merging real-time data signals with smart digital capabilities, the role ensures emerging technologies deliver exceptional, frictionless customer experiences. Ultimately, this position leverages these high-quality experiences to drive a strict commercial discipline, optimising long-term financial returns through sustained customer loyalty and adoption.
Lead the product strategy, multi-year roadmap, and scaled execution for emerging agentic commerce ecosystems and connected in-store digital touchpoints across digital and physical.
Foster a high-velocity 'test, learn, and pivot' discovery culture that balances rapid functional prototyping with absolute data security and technical robustness.
Establish and enforce robust guardrails for responsible AI governance, ensuring conversational tools and AI-driven recommendations are unbiased, transparent, and ethically sound.
Partner seamlessly with Store Operations, Digital Experience, and Group Risk teams to safely move new technology from pilot to production.
Influence and align senior executive stakeholders across a complex corporate matrix while establishing a global scouting ecosystem with deep-tech providers, startups, and incubators.
Create and define robust business cases and capital investment programs, ensuring feature adoption translates into net-new business value and clear retail P&L drivers.
Executive Product & Platform Leadership: 15+ years of experience directing digital product, eCommerce, or digital transformation within high-volume consumer environments, with a proven track record of scaling concepts.
Omnichannel Experience: Demonstrated success bridging digital software applications with physical retail store operations and interactive physical hardware touchpoints.
Advanced Technical Fluency: A strong, authoritative understanding of contemporary technology trends, including practical AI applications, machine learning pipelines, and agentic commerce frameworks.
Commercial & Capital Acumen: Exceptional capability to formulate business cases for unproven digital spaces, manage large scale capital allocations, and monitor post-implementation benefit realisation.
Matrix Navigation & Resilience: High operational resilience and comfort with ambiguity, alongside the ability to challenge standard paradigms and build productive internal alliances at the highest corporate levels.
Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related tech-focused field; post-graduate credentials in innovation strategy or corporate venture management are highly regarded.
