Full Job Description

We’re looking for a talented baker or pastry chef to join the Bread Local team.

This is a varied bakery production role and would suit someone who loves the diversity of working across both bread and pastry stations. You’ll be part of a busy, skilled production team working with everything from artisan breads and laminated pastry, through to cakes, tarts, fillings and savoury pastry.

The role involves:

· Mixing, shaping and baking sourdough and other bread products

· Managing dough development and fermentation

· Mixing pastry, laminating and producing viennoiserie

· Producing sweet and savoury pastries

· Baking cakes, slices, biscuits and tarts

· Preparing custards, fillings, glazes, sauces and other components

· Finishing, piping, glazing and presenting products

· Operating the ovens and independently managing the daily baking schedule

· General kitchen preparation and sandwich production

· Contributing ideas and skills to new product development

The role requires strong technical baking skills, attention to detail and the ability to understand how variables such as fermentation, temperature, timing and production processes affect the finished product.

About the role:

Located in beautiful Esperance, Western Australia.

Permanent full-time - 40 hours per week.

Early starts and no night shifts.

· Someone hard working and reliable with experience in a busy production environment

· A baker who is passionate about the industry, demonstrates a commitment to excellence and is looking for a long-term position on our team.

· Qualified baker or pastry chef – or minimum two years relevant experience
