Founded in 2024, RAFI URBNSURF delivers an elevated dining experience within Sydney's first surf park. An extension of the acclaimed RAFI North Sydney, the venue combines refined hospitality with a relaxed, surf-inspired atmosphere. Its menu celebrates fresh, seasonal coastal produce, while the adjoining Surf Suite offers a versatile event space with panoramic views across the water.

We're passionate about delivering exceptional food, vibrant hospitality and unforgettable guest experiences in a truly one-of-a-kind setting. We're looking for an inspiring Head Chef to lead our talented kitchen team, drive culinary creativity and continue building RAFI URBNSURF as one of Sydney's must-visit dining destinations.

As Head Chef, you'll lead every aspect of the kitchen operation while working alongside an experienced venue leadership team to deliver outstanding food, inspire your team and create memorable experiences for every guest.

Your responsibilities include:

Kitchen Leadership – Lead the operations of the kitchen, inspire and develop a high-performing culinary team.

Menu Development – Showcase premium local produce with creativity and flair.

Commercial Performance - Manage labour, food costs and kitchen budgets while driving profitability through smart purchasing, stock control and waste management.

Operations & Compliance - Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and safely every day.

Events & Functions – Lead the culinary execution of private events, corporate functions and venue activations.

Salary: Circa $100k, depending on experience, plus monthly KPI bonuses.

About You

Proven experience as a Head Chef in a premium, high-volume venue.
Strong leadership skills with a passion for developing people.
Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of kitchen financials.
Creativity balanced with consistency and operational excellence.
A calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure.
A genuine passion for hospitality and producing outstanding food.
