Executive Pastry Chef – Central Production Kitchen
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Executive Pastry Chef to lead our growing central production kitchen.
This is a leadership role for someone who has successfully managed large-scale pastry production and understands how to build efficient systems that support multiple retail locations. You will oversee the production of premium pastries, desserts, cakes and baked goods while implementing procedures that ensure consistency, quality and scalability.
Our central kitchen currently supplies multiple stores, with further expansion planned.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the central production kitchen.
- Develop, standardise and maintain recipes for consistent quality across all stores.
- Design and implement production systems, workflows and quality control procedures.
- Build production schedules and inventory systems to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.
- Recruit, train, mentor and develop the pastry production team.
- Establish comprehensive training manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure food safety, HACCP and hygiene standards are consistently met.
- Manage ordering, stock control and supplier relationships.
- Work closely with management to develop new products and support business growth.
- Ensure the production kitchen can efficiently supply five or more retail stores while maintaining exceptional quality.
About You
- Proven experience as an Executive Pastry Chef, Head Pastry Chef or Production Pastry Chef.
- Experience managing a high-volume pastry production or commissary kitchen.
- Strong leadership and team development skills.
- Demonstrated experience creating systems, SOPs, recipes and training programs.
- Excellent knowledge of pastries, viennoiserie, desserts, cakes and bakery production.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Commercially minded with experience managing food costs, labour and production efficiency.
- A hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
