Chef (Teppanyaki & Wok Specialist)

Simon King Chinese Restaurant & Kakuya Teppanyaki is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled chef with strong experience in Asian cuisine, wok cooking, and customer-facing food preparation. The successful candidate will work across both our Chinese restaurant and teppanyaki operations, preparing high-quality dishes while delivering an engaging dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook a wide range of Asian and Chinese cuisine dishes.
Perform teppanyaki cooking and food presentation in front of customers.
Operate commercial wok burners and kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency.
Monitor food preparation, portion control, and stock rotation.
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Assist with menu development and daily kitchen operations.
Work effectively within a busy team environment.

Skills and Experience:

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Chef.
Strong wok cooking experience is essential.
Teppanyaki or open-kitchen cooking experience is highly regarded.
Ability to engage and interact professionally with customers.
Knowledge of food safety and commercial kitchen procedures.
Relevant cookery qualification preferred.
