About the Venue:
Opening this November, Wishbone is the newest concept from acclaimed restaurateur Chris Lucas and the team behind some of Australia’s most iconic dining destinations. Inspired by the vibrant energy of Hong Kong’s street food culture and neighbourhood diners, Wishbone will bring a bold, modern dining experience to Melbourne’s CBD.
Located within the new Midtown precinct on Bourke Street, the venue will combine exceptional food, striking design, and warm hospitality in a dynamic all-day setting. Led by Hong Kong-born chef Dan Chan, formerly of renowned Hong Kong restaurant Yardbird, the menu will celebrate dumplings, wok-fired dishes, hand-cut noodles and modern yum cha with a contemporary Melbourne influence.

About the Opportunity:
We're looking for a passionate
Pastry Sous Chef to join the opening team at
Wishbone.
As part of our pastry team, you'll help bring the dessert offering to life at Wishbone, creating exceptional pastries, desserts and baked goods in a fast-paced, premium kitchen. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new venue and help shape the guest experience from day one.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Demonstrated experience as a Pastry Sous Chef in a premium restaurant
- Experience with Chinese cuisine is advantageous
- Effective management and communication of diverse team
- Experience in managing and maintaining food safety program including documentation
- Rostering and ordering experience
- Monitor and supervise OH&S standards and procedure
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships
- Genuine interest in the day to day operations
- Excellent attention to detail
- Outstanding time management during preparation and service periods
- Calm and composed demeanour
- Full availability, able and willing to work weekends, public holidays, opening and closing shifts
