The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is looking for an enthusiastic and team-orientated individual to provide high quality leadership to its Corporate Services Procurement Team. The successful applicant will support DCS Corporate Procurement by leading and managing a team to continuously improve procurement within the cluster through enhanced data, self-service technology, streamlined process and easy to use templates to enhance end-user experience.
The Corporate Services Procurement Team are currently undergoing transformation with several exciting opportunities including a current vacancy for an outstanding Associate Director, Centre of Excellence to join our team!
This role will also establish strong governance mechanisms that support improved compliance and minimise delays to deliver procurement outcomes. The role is to provide a range of specialised analysis and services to agencies within the Department, as well as the Corporate Procurement Team.

About Us
This is an exciting opportunity to work in our Corporate Procurement Team which services the DCS cluster. The team sits within the Corporate Services Division of DCS, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer for DCS. Corporate Procurement has three functions within the team: Business Partnering, Sourcing, and Centre of Excellence. This role leads the Centre of Excellence team and reports directly to the Chief Procurement Officer.
Your responsibilities will include:

Manage and maintain Corporate Procurement Policy & Process Framework to ensure it aligns with NSW Government requirements and supports effective, efficient and compliant procurement within the cluster

Identify, develop, implement and maintain cluster-wide technology platform including data resources and contemporary analytical tools and methodologies to enable strategic planning, reporting, analysis and predictive modelling to inform and support procurement and category management

Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of a robust central contracts registry and contract expiry tracking process

Lead the design and implementation of effective metrics and reports to continually monitor and assess the performance of individual procurement arrangements and the benefits realised for the total category/procurement function

Develop and maintain customer-centric procurement intranet site, systems and processes, templates and self-help materials to enhance customer experience

Leading the Centre of Excellence team and managing three direct reports
About you:
You are genuinely passionate about procurement with demonstrable experience delivering excellence in governance, guidelines and processes which inform sustainable procurement and enhanced user experience. This role would suit an expert with experience in a complex procurement environment and perhaps an industry with regulatory frameworks. As this is a new role, you will understand expectations set by the Chief Procurement Officer and be able to operate at a high level of autonomy and hold yourself accountable for the quality, integrity and value of service provided.
