Business Development Manager - Position Description

As a Business Development Manager, you will be required to implement strategies, communication activities, coordinate and facilitate events to increase traffic for DMS and grow DMS’s core business. Your role will improve, enhance and maximise the visibility of DMS in the public and professional sectors while fostering positive reputation and standing in the industry and community.

You will be able to rely on your extensive network and highly developed networking skills to create opportunities to grow DMS’ Participant-base and collaborate to develop innovative and appropriate programs for existing and future Participants.

Reports to: CEO

Direct Reports: nil

Duties and Responsibilities:

Sourcing, arbitrating, maintaining and managing relationships between business partners, referral organisations, State and Federal Government Departments and not-for-profits.
Delivering on business development KPIs and providing weekly reporting to CEO.
Identify opportunities to promote DMS, including identifying, attracting, and actioning new and existing revenue avenues and marketing strategies to reach new audiences to produce new NDIS customer referrals.
Nurturing a network of connections across the disability and community care sector. Generating leads and creating strategic relationships.
Being the ‘face’ of the business and building our company’s brand awareness. Including building and maintaining professional client focused relationships with current and future stakeholders.
Creating events (programming and content) and event communications. Marketing and promoting DMS events.
Attending external events, co-ordinating and attending expos; representing DMS and it’s programs.
Generating and responding to referrals via a network of community, mainstream and Government-based connections, and relationships
Negotiating mutually beneficial partnerships to grow the DMS brand.
Participant-centric business innovation focused on the development of new products, programs, services and processes.
Managing programs compliant with Federal and Government legislation, NDIS standards, contractual requirements, and internal policies.
Future Specialised Projects.
Managing and growing social media presence via platforms that include LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and emerging relevant platforms.
Managing direct marketing, newsletters, and emerging external communications tools.

Schools, TAFEs
Children Community groups
Associations
Aged Care
Hospitals, medical centres and other practitioner centres
Excursion, Activity, Adventure programs and Day Program
Other specialised sectors or programs as delegated by COO

Skills and Experience:

· Proven experience in sales, business development, or a related role, preferably within the disability sector.

· Strong understanding of the NDIS framework and the unique needs of individuals with disabilities.

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain long-term client relationships.

· Strategic thinker with the ability to identify growth opportunities and develop actionable plans to capitalize on them.

· Results-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

· Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing priorities and deadlines effectively.

· Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, or a related field are advantageous.

· Current valid drivers’ licence
