About this opportunity:
We are looking for a dynamic Business Development Manager – Exhibitions to work alongside the Senior Manager, Business Development International and Exhibitions to develop long-term partnerships with exhibition clients and manage a range of stand-alone exhibitions to deliver on business objectives and revenue targets for both ICC Sydney and The Cutaway.
You will:
- Assist the Senior Manager Business Development - International and Exhibitions to plan and execute sales activities and business strategies to attract new business and maximise yield of space.
- Develop and manage a range of key account relationships at CEO and business owner level, resulting in successful business event conversions from the exhibitions market.
- Conduct and maintain confidential discussions and correspondence with clients regarding show profile, dates, space and commercial negotiations.
- Develop deep knowledge and insights of market/industry developments and the competitive environment to best leverage ICC Sydney’s engagement and leadership position in the exhibition industry.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key players in the supply chain.
- Prepare and follow up proposals, contracts and reports.
- Coordinate and host familiarisations, attend trade shows and related industry events.
- Database management and reporting in conjunction with the Senior Manager Business Development - International and Exhibitions

Required Skills & Experience:
- Qualification in business, event management, sales and/or marketing
- Relevant work experience (minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role)
- Current knowledge of exhibition / business events industry
- Good understanding of event and venue operational requirements
- Well organised with attention to detail
- Ability to negotiate and manage through challenging situations
- Valid working rights in Australia.
- You must be 18 years or over.
