About the Role
The Child and Adolescent Health Service is seeking an experienced leader to join our Strategy, Planning and Innovation team as Manager Planning and Strategic Initiatives.
Reporting to the Director Strategy, Planning and Innovation, you lead and facilitate strategic planning, clinical service planning, and key reform initiatives that support CAHS in achieving its objectives, aligned with WA Health reform directions and evidence-based practice.
Your ability to engage effectively with clinical teams and stakeholders across the health system will be key in informing, evaluating and implementing strategic initiatives that meet current and future population health needs.
Key responsibilities include
- Lead strategic planning, service development initiatives and reform projects aligned with organisational priorities and WA Health directions.
- Working closely with Business Intelligence to analyse health service data and evidence to inform planning, business cases, and strategic decision-making.
- Driving the implementation of strategic initiatives and overseeing project delivery within agreed scope, budget and timelines.
- Building and maintaining strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, clinicians and service providers.
- Developing effective engagement and communication strategies to support collaboration, consultation and change management.
- Preparing high-level reports, briefing notes, submissions and executive correspondence.
- Identifying and managing project risks, issues and dependencies associated with strategic initiatives.
- Providing expert strategic advice to executive leadership and represent CAHS on committees, forums and working groups.
- Supporting leadership, capability development and a collaborative team environment within the Strategy, Planning and Innovation team.

About the Clinical Services Strategy, Planning, and Innovation Department
Our team lead strategic clinical service planning across the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS), with a focus on enhancing service capability and driving innovation and reform in line with CAHS and WA Health strategic objectives. Our work is guided by a shared goal of improving health outcomes for children and young people across Western Australia.
Working in collaboration with stakeholders and partners across WA Health, we develop, implement and continuously review internal and external processes for large-scale clinical service initiatives, ensuring alignment with community needs and State Government priorities. We also play a key role in policy development, performance monitoring and the advancement of contemporary models of care.
