As one of Australia’s biggest and most respected child health research institutes we are seeking a Theme Manager for our Precision Health Theme, supporting the Theme Head, to help drive our new strategic plan, which aims to solve the biggest challenges facing children and families.
Research Reimagined 2025-2035 is an ambitious and bold plan revolving around three core pillars – focus, impact, thrive – and emphasises challenge-driven research and the pursuit of outcomes which have the most impact. Our vision is simple – happy, healthy kids.
As a Theme Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in steering the day-to-day operations of one of our core Themes, working closely with the Theme Head to ensure alignment with the Institute’s Strategic Plan. You will empower research teams to achieve high-impact results, foster cross-theme collaboration, and ensure that every initiative supports our vision of making a difference in children’s lives.
Precision Health utilises personalised approaches to healthcare, aiming to tailor prevention and treatment strategies based on genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. This theme strives to make healthcare more targeted and effective for each child’s unique needs.

- Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth workflows, optimal resource allocation, and alignment with research objectives.
- Translate strategic initiatives into actionable plans that drive meaningful research outcomes.
- Mentor and support research teams, guiding their professional development and encouraging innovation.
- Represent the Theme in meetings and external engagements, showcasing the incredible work of your teams.
- Connect and align research efforts across Themes, driving synergies and shared successes.
Manage resources, budgets, and timelines to ensure high-quality research outcomes.

This role will be based at Nedlands, WA, and is offered at 0.6 – 0.8 FTE.
