Belgravia Health & Leisure is seeking an experienced, commercially focused and community minded Venue Manager to lead the operations of East Fremantle Community Park.
This is a unique opportunity to oversee one of Western Australia’s most diverse community precincts, combining hospitality, health and fitness, community sport, events and public recreation spaces within one integrated venue.
The Role
Reporting to the Business Operations Manager – Western Australia, the Venue Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership across all areas of East Fremantle Community Park.
The role is responsible for ensuring the venue operates safely, efficiently and commercially, while delivering high quality experiences for members, customers, sporting clubs, tenants, stakeholders and the broader community.
You will lead a multidisciplinary management team across hospitality, health and fitness, functions and events, administration and facility operations.
A key focus of the role will be driving sustainable financial performance, developing the venue’s programs and services, strengthening stakeholder relationships and continuing to establish the precinct as a leading community destination.

You are an experienced and confident leader who enjoys working across a broad and fast-paced operational environment.
You have strong commercial awareness, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to balance community outcomes with operational and financial performance.
You are comfortable leading diverse teams, managing competing priorities and taking a hands-on approach when required. You will bring energy, accountability and a strong customer focus to the role while continuing to develop the venue and its people.
Key Accountabilities

Provide leadership and direction across all venue departments, programs and operational areas

Oversee hospitality operations, including the café, bar & restaurant, functions, kiosks and event day F&B services

Oversee the health club, gym, group fitness, indoor cycling, Reformer Pilates, personal training and allied health services

Coordinate community sport, facility bookings, major events and shared access arrangements
-
Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, labour targets and financial performance
-
Drive revenue growth, membership performance, customer participation and commercial opportunities

Ensure high standards of customer service, presentation, cleanliness and facility maintenance

Maintain compliance with workplace health and safety, liquor licensing, food safety, child safety and other legislative requirements

Develop and maintain strong relationships with local government, sporting clubs, tenants, contractors, suppliers and community organisations

Manage venue contracts, service providers and major operational projects
-
Identify opportunities to improve services, increase participation and strengthen the venue’s community impact

Prepare operational reports, business plans and performance updates for internal and external stakeholders

Support the delivery of major sporting fixtures, community activations, functions and precinct events
Essential Skills and Qualifications

Demonstrated experience managing a complex leisure, hospitality, sporting, recreation or community facility

Proven leadership experience across multidisciplinary teams

Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, labour management and performance reporting

Demonstrated ability to drive revenue, participation and operational improvements
-
Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills
-
Experience managing contractors, service providers and facility operations
-
Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety, risk management and legislative compliance
-
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Current First Aid and CPR certificates

Current Working with Children Check
-
Current National Police Check
Desirable
-
Tertiary qualification in business, hospitality, sport and recreation, facility management or a related discipline

Current RSA & Approved Managers certificate
-
Certificate IV in Fitness or equivalent health and fitness qualification
-
Experience within a multi use community, leisure or sporting precinct
-
Experience managing licensed hospitality operations
-
Experience delivering major sporting events, functions or community activations
-
Knowledge of local government contracts and stakeholder environments
