Full Job Description

Experienced Cook (Full-Time, Permanent)

We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our team at Sushimaru@ Marrickville, are committed to delivering exciting and memorable dining experiences, and we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their craft and thrives.

Your experience in a busy Japanese restaurant environment will be key to your success.

Key Responsibilities

· Set up and prepare your workstation before service, including rice preparation

· Prepare nigiri, sushi rolls for sushi train and à la carte service

· Prepare and handle fresh ingredients in line with menu requirements

· Follow and maintain OH&S and food safety procedures

· Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen at all times

· Monitor and regulate temperatures of fridges and freezers

· Maintain high standards in food presentation, portioning, and plating

About You

· Strong sushi-making skills or Japanese kitchen experience

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a Japanese restaurant

· Solid understanding of food safety and HACCP standards

· Ability to perform well under pressure and manage multiple tasks

· Good communication and teamwork skills

· Experience in a modern Japanese restaurant is highly regarded
