About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Cook to join our kitchen team. The successful
candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes while maintaining
high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation, adhering to the Cook.
Key Responsibilities
● Inspect food ingredients and supplies to ensure freshness and quality.
● Prepare, cook and season food in accordance with recipes and kitchen standards.
● Operate and regulate ovens, grills and other cooking equipment.
● Portion and plate meals with appropriate sauces, gravies and garnishes.
● Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements.
● Store and handle food safely in temperature-controlled facilities.
● Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation.
● Assist with menu planning and estimating food requirements where required.
● Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen environment.
● Assist in training kitchen staff and apprentices when required.
Skills & Experience
● Relevant cookery qualifications, at least Certificate III, and/or demonstrated
industry experience.
● Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety.
● Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
● Good understanding of portion control, food storage and hygiene requirements.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
