The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly proactive, self-directed, and passionate Disability Support Worker for a unique participant in the eastern suburbs of Brisbane. This position is highly important—the participant relies heavily on your drive, your consistency, and your proactive approach to navigate their world safely.

This is an "active support" role. When you are not directly assisting the participant using our “teach–prompt–fade” method to build capacity, you are actively working behind the scenes to add continuous value to their life. During quieter moments, your focus shifts to proactive household management. This includes deep cleaning to ensure a calm environment, identifying upcoming supply needs, suggesting environmental improvements, and conducting vital stock audits of first aid kits, emergency kits, car safety kits, go-bags, and staff supplies. Furthermore, you will creatively research a broad range of engaging community access and home-based opportunities that align with their interests—which include a deep love for art, diamond artwork, and all things Stitch. You will pitch these diverse ideas to our management team well in advance so we can plan and bring these quality-of-life opportunities to fruition.

The Voice of the Client: Because this is a highly accountable environment, you must possess strong knowledge and experience in clinical documentation, shift notes, and reporting. Your clear, accurate observations ensure their voice is heard and their progress is tracked meticulously.
Patience & Rapport: You understand that building trust takes significant time. You possess the emotional resilience and clinical maturity to navigate Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) profiles, wiping the slate clean to take each day as a new day.
Long-Term Vision: You understand that quality of life and capacity improvements are developed over time, not overnight. You celebrate the small wins.
Unwavering Drive: You are a self-starter who takes the initiative to manage the home, plan future goals, and maintain reliable contact with our management team while working autonomously.

Key Requirements:

Mandatory: Proven, hands-on experience in complex mental health support and navigating ASD with PDA profiles.
Shared Interests & Care: You must genuinely enjoy creative activities and be capable of assisting with personal grooming—specifically, brushing and styling their hair for the day.
Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance & Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
First Aid & CPR Certificate.
Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module, NDIS Induction Module, Safe Eating Module, and Safe Communication Modules.
Open Australian Driver’s Licence.
