What’s the role on offer?

We are seeking a highly capable and commercially astute Fleet Intermediate Maintenance & Fleet Optimisation Manager to join our Engineering team based in Brisbane. This critical leadership role is responsible for the seamless execution of intermediate maintenance activities while driving the technical and commercial optimisation of aircraft exiting the fleet. You will play a pivotal role in balancing operational reliability with asset value, ensuring aircraft are maintained safely, compliantly, and cost-effectively. Working across AMO, CAMO, Engineering, and Commercial teams, you will provide essential coordination and strategic direction for both in-service fleet performance and end-of-life aircraft outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to influence both operational delivery and long-term fleet value.

Who we are looking for?

We are looking for a results-driven aviation professional who can lead from the front and collaborate across multiple functions to deliver safe, efficient, and commercially sound outcomes. You will bring:

Strong leadership experience managing intermediate maintenance activities within an AMO or MRO environment
Demonstrated ability to coordinate maintenance execution to meet operational and fleet availability targets
Experience managing aircraft defects, deferred maintenance, and technical records with a high level of accuracy
Proven capability in fleet exit planning, aircraft optimisation, and supporting sale or lease return activities
Sound knowledge of major component lifecycle management and asset value optimisation strategies
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across Engineering, CAMO, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams
A solid understanding of CASA regulatory requirements, including Part 145 and continuing airworthiness
Financial and commercial awareness, with experience in cost control, reporting, and maintenance efficiency
A proactive approach to continuous improvement, risk management, and safety culture

What you will need to succeed?

Certificate IV or Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (Mechanical or Avionics)
CASA Part 66 Licence (B1 or B2) preferred (not essential)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a maintenance management or supervisory role
Experience working within an AMO and collaborating with CAMO and Engineering functions
Strong technical understanding of aircraft systems, maintenance programs, and documentation
Exposure to fleet phase-out or aircraft exit activities (highly desirable)
Familiarity with maintenance systems such as AMOS, TRAX, Rusada, or equivalent
Ability to hold an ASIC
