About the opportunity:
This is a superb and unique opportunity in which you will hold responsibility for management across both active and mothballed quarry sites in SE Queensland - focussing on maximising the performance of people, plant, and fleet to achieve company safety, environmental and financial targets whilst delivering required customer service standards and performance outcomes.
You will also hold wider responsibilities across the QLD Aggregates business and you will be considered a key component of the state's senior management team. You will be accountable for budgeting and production targets, customer and community relations, health and safety, quality compliance, crushing and screening, drill and blast, maintenance, stockpiling, load out, circular economy and quarry development.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team with the aim of providing an efficient and effective production process in a safety focused environment and you will work closely with other operations in the business to develop strategies and deliver operational goals for the region.
This leadership role is perfect for someone looking to take ownership of operations over a wide area and help the business to achieve the growth required for the next stage of its operation.
About you:
- You will ideally hold an Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Extractive Industries.
- A Queensland SSE Notice or related is preferred.
- You will have strong experience of safety orientated leadership and a working knowledge of Safety Management Systems, relevant legislation and regulations.
- Experience in a similar quarry management role is ideal although experience in a related sector i.e. concrete will be considered.
- A thorough understanding of Drill & Blast and Quarry development (ideal).
- Strong maintenance background.
- Excellent people management & communication skills.
- Experience in budgeting & managing a P&L.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplined environment to deliver productivity and cost improvements.
- Have a strong customer focus and be able to work well with sales and technical teams to deliver key business objectives.
