The Learning Spaces and Technology unit maintains the enterprise architecture and infrastructure that connects our physical environments with the cutting-edge learning technologies. The LS&T team provide a seamless customer-focused participant and guest experience, ensuring each Academy site is equipped with sophisticated IT and AV systems that enable Academy staff to deliver high-quality multi-modal learning and events across the state.

About the Division

The Business Services Division leads the provision of quality Academy corporate support services and functions (including procurement, risk management, performance reporting and evaluation, human resources and culture, finance, facilities management, information and audio-visual technology) which enable successful operation of the Academy. In addition, the Business Services Division is responsible for the oversight, delivery and reporting of the compliance and audit obligations required of a statutory authority.

About the Role

The Learning Spaces and Technology (LS&T) unit supports and maintains the enterprise architecture and infrastructure that connects our physical environments with cutting-edge learning technologies. The LS&T team provide a seamless customer-focused participant and guest experience, ensuring each Academy site is equipped with sophisticated IT and AV systems that enable Academy staff to deliver high-quality multi-modal learning and events across the state. To ensure high-quality support, the LS&T operate a triaged service model in partnership with the Department of Education's Information Management and Technology Division, providing expert technical assistance and seamless project delivery when needed.

Simultaneously, LS&T leads the Academy's statewide facility operations and asset management, maintaining strict alignment with the Victorian Government Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF) with a consistent focus on delivering high utilisation, operational efficiency and maintaining robust standards for safety and security.

The Project Officer, Learning Spaces and Technology supports the planning and delivery of facilities and technology related maintenance and projects a cross the Academy, including coordination and engagement of suppliers. This role contributes to the safe and efficient delivery of IT and facilities tasks and asset management in line with organisational and compliance requirements.

The responsibilities of the Project Officer, LS&T include:

supporting the planning, coordination and delivery of facilities and technology projects, activities, timelines, contractor engagement and logistics
contributing to, assisting with, maintaining and developing clear, accurate and audience-appropriate documentation, reports, briefings, compliance documents and supporting materials
coordinating stakeholders and suppliers to support activity outcomes
monitoring activity risks, compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, budgets and progress

contributing to continuous improvements practices to the facilities function.

Capabilities

Knowledge of project management frameworks and practices to support delivery
Demonstrated experience in leading discrete elements and/or supporting the end-to-end processes of facilities or technology projects and activities
Sound organisational skills with the ability to manage competing tasks across multiple projects
Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail, tone and audience
Ability to work collaboratively by building effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving capability.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Relevant qualification and experience in Facilities Management, Property/Asset Management or Project Management is highly desirable.
