Tucked away below the Chemist Warehouse Head Office in Preston, Albert's Basement Café is more than just a place to grab a coffee, it's a welcoming space where great coffee, delicious food, and friendly service come together to brighten our team's day.

We're passionate about creating an exceptional café experience for our office employees and visitors. From crafting the perfect morning coffee to serving fresh meals with a smile, our team takes pride in delivering quality, consistency, and genuine hospitality every day.

About the Role

We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Barista to join our café team. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for creating outstanding coffee, providing exceptional customer service, and helping maintain the welcoming atmosphere Albert's Basement Café is known for.

Working alongside a supportive team, you'll play an important part in ensuring every customer enjoys a positive café experience.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve consistently high-quality espresso-based coffee and other beverages.
Deliver friendly, efficient, and professional customer service.
Take food and beverage orders accurately and process payments.
Assist with food preparation and presentation when required.
Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked café environment.
Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are upheld at all times.
Open and close the café as required.
Work collaboratively with the café team to deliver a seamless service during busy periods.
Contribute to creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers and colleagues alike.

About You

You'll be someone who enjoys making great coffee and providing a great customer experience.

Ideally, you'll bring:

Previous experience as a Barista in a busy café environment.
Confidence operating commercial espresso machines and adjusting grind and extraction as needed.
A passion for coffee and delivering consistently excellent beverages.
Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to support the wider team.
The ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
A current Food Safety Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
