Primary objective
Provide high level secretariat, administration and corporate governance information, advice, and support to the Regional Services
Greater Darwin (RSGD) Executive Director. Lead the capability development for Executive and Ministerial correspondence in the
Region.

Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide high level executive support to the Executive Director and Business Manager including meeting and secretarial

support, research and project support, financial administration support, and oversight of diary management.
2. Manage and lead a regional executive administration team, to ensure consistency and compliance with regional, agency and

public sector communications, administration and governance legislation, policy, delegation, and process.
3. Ensure the Executive Director and Business Manager are provided with timely, accurate and reliable briefings on regional risks

and issues, including management strategies employed.
4. Prepare, coordinate and process high quality, timely and reliable executive correspondence for the region, including cabinet

submissions, estimates papers, flash briefs, divisional response papers, position papers and other reports as required.
5. Develop the capability of regional staff in relation to senior executive and Ministerial correspondence, including through the

provision of coaching to staff and managers.
6. Develop, implement, and maintain effective structures and systems to continually develop and improve the accuracy, reliability

and quality of regional correspondence and information flows.
7. Manage regional complaint matters, ensuring timely, compassionate, accountable, professional, and respectful resolutions to

all complaints, and foster a culture which strives to prevent issues arising in future.
8. Manage regional communication, administration and corporate governance projects identified by the Executive Director and

Business Manager, including active contribution to the development, implementation and monitoring of regional plans and
policies.

9. Assist in delivering the Department’s statutory welfare group responses in accordance with the Emergency Management Act.

Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated high-level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt content and style

to suit the audience, including within change management contexts, and interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.
2. Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to work autonomously and part of a team, adaptability, and ability to lead and

respond to change, ability to manage all aspects of team management and performance, and a demonstrated commitment to
supporting change initiatives by example, and with professionalism and enthusiasm.

3. Demonstrated ability to thoroughly research complex issues, undertake detailed evaluations and prepare concise reports,
including the ability to interpret, understand and apply legislation, policy, and procedures.

4. Demonstrated strategic, conceptual, analytical, problem solving and risk management skills, including the ability to devise sound,
timely solutions to risks, and implement the necessary change plans, with a high degree of independence.

5. Exceptional organisation, time management and coordination skills, attention to detail and accuracy of written and verbal
communication, including proficiency in contemporary administration and communication computer software (Excel, Outlook,
Word, PowerPoint).

6. Demonstrated ability in process analysis, gap analysis, and the design, implementation, and management of executive
administration process improvements.

7. Hold a Northern Territory driver licence or ability to obtain upon or prior to commencement.
