About the opportunity

Byron Shire Council is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Infrastructure Planning Support Officer to join our Infrastructure Planning team.

This is a varied administrative role that supports the delivery of infrastructure planning projects and provides a professional interface between Council and the community. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, government agencies, and community members while helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the team.

This position is a full-time term position (35 hours per week) until 30 June 2027.

What you'll be doing

Providing administrative and technical support to the Infrastructure Planning team.
Responding to customer enquiries and coordinating requests for service.
Preparing meeting agendas, minutes, reports and committee documentation.
Managing correspondence, Council resolutions, customer requests and records.
Assisting with tender administration and project-specific communications.
Processing purchase orders, invoices and creditor payments.
Liaising with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to support effective service delivery.
Maintaining registers, reporting information and administrative systems.

What you'll be doing

Qualifications in Business Administration, a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience in an administrative role.
Experience working in administration and/ or customer service environments.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to customer service excellence.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
High attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
A commitment to workplace safety, diversity and positive workplace culture.
A current Drivers License.

Position Description:

We offer:

Full-time term contract (35 hours per week), until 30 June 2027
Salary and Conditions will be in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award with an appointment in the range of $1,237.66 to $1,434.02 per week (dependent upon skills and experience).

Location: This position is primarily based at our Mullumbimby Office; however Council can require you to work from other work sites as required for operational reasons.
