About the opportunity
Byron Shire Council is seeking a proactive and customer-focused Infrastructure Planning Support Officer to join our Infrastructure Planning team.
This is a varied administrative role that supports the delivery of infrastructure planning projects and provides a professional interface between Council and the community. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, government agencies, and community members while helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the team.

This position is a full-time term position (35 hours per week) until 30 June 2027.
What you'll be doing
- Providing administrative and technical support to the Infrastructure Planning team.
- Responding to customer enquiries and coordinating requests for service.
- Preparing meeting agendas, minutes, reports and committee documentation.
- Managing correspondence, Council resolutions, customer requests and records.
- Assisting with tender administration and project-specific communications.
- Processing purchase orders, invoices and creditor payments.
- Liaising with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to support effective service delivery.
- Maintaining registers, reporting information and administrative systems.
What you'll be doing
- Qualifications in Business Administration, a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience in an administrative role.
- Experience working in administration and/ or customer service environments.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to customer service excellence.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- A commitment to workplace safety, diversity and positive workplace culture.
- A current Drivers License.

- Salary and Conditions will be in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award with an appointment in the range of $1,237.66 to $1,434.02 per week (dependent upon skills and experience).

Location: This position is primarily based at our Mullumbimby Office; however Council can require you to work from other work sites as required for operational reasons.
