The Department of Justice and Community Safety (Youth Justice) is responsible for the statutory supervision of young people in the criminal justice system in Victoria focusing on prevention, diversion, and early intervention as the most effective and fiscally responsible ways of reducing youth crime.
Youth Justice Custodial Services aim to engage young people in change by addressing their offending behaviour and equipping them with the skills required for positive community participation, within a safe and secure environment.
The Reception Services Officer is responsible for the management of the Parkville Youth Justice Precinct reception. The role is required to manage the switchboard system and attend to counter enquiries, managing the department's fleet system, managing all in-coming and outgoing mail and assisting all functions of the Administrative Services team when required ensuring that smooth business services are provided.
The opportunity

Ongoing, full-time position based at the Parkville Youth Justice Precinct but working flexibly across other Youth Justice Custodial Precincts (Malmsbury & Cherry Creek), where needed to respond to operational requirements.

VPS2 role: $62,104 - $79,753 per year plus super.

Deliver quality reception services to service providers and members of the public by maintaining a welcoming professional manner

Provide reception & Front Office Management; Fleet Management; Administrative & Office Support; Mail, Records & Communication support.

Deliver administrative and office support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Keep accurate and complete records of all work activities in line with legislative, privacy, and information security requirements.
To be successful in this role you will have experience providing reception and administrative services preferably within a government environment.
A current driver's licence is required.
You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
