About the job Cyber Security Incident Manager

About the role:

Contract Term: Approx. 220 days with 2x possible 12-month extensions (RFQ Opportunity)
Start Date: 1 July 2026
Location: Canberra ACT (Onsite)
Security Clearance: NV1 (minimum)

Role Overview:
The Cyber Security Incident Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing cyber security incidents across enterprise ICT environments, ensuring timely response, mitigation, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate cyber security incident response activities
Develop and maintain incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes
Monitor threat and risk reporting channels and provide incident analysis
Maintain incident records and reporting dashboards
Provide incident response advice and mentorship to stakeholders
Coordinate internal and external response efforts
Support incident readiness, training exercises, and policy improvement
Provide briefings and updates to senior stakeholders

Required Experience & Skills

Demonstrated experience in ICT security incident management
Strong knowledge of incident response frameworks and methodologies
Experience working with Essential Eight, ISM, PSPF, DSPF frameworks
Strong stakeholder coordination and communication skills
Experience managing high-risk or sensitive incidents

Certifications (Desirable)

CISSP or equivalent
SANS SEC504 or equivalent
ITIL v3 (or equivalent experience)
