Details: Capital Linen Service (CLS), part of the City and Environment Directorate, is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our dedicated maintenance team. This role starts immediately for an initial period of three months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency depending on the business requirements. About the Role
This hands-on role supports laundry operations by ensuring a safe and efficient production environment through effective reactive and preventative maintenance. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll work collaboratively with operational staff to minimise downtime and maintain high standards of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Perform reactive and preventative maintenance on industrial laundry equipment

Investigate breakdowns, identify causes, and carry out timely repairs

Conduct routine inspections and support continuous improvement initiatives

Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure operational continuity

Maintain accurate records in the MEX system and provide status updates

Support spare parts inventory and assist with maintenance-related projects

Uphold WHS standards and contribute to a safe working environment

Eligibility/Other requirements:
What You Require

Recognised trade qualification
-
Experience in a commercial laundry or similar industrial setting

Strong judgement in prioritising maintenance tasks with minimal disruption

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Commitment to safety, respect, and positive workplace culture

C Class Driver’s Licence essential

Availability for morning/afternoon shifts, overtime, weekends and public holidays

Pre-employment medical required
Note: This is a temporary position available immediately for three months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency.
An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
