Full Job Description

Ket Baker | Initially 4 hours per week | Opportunity to grow

Ket Baker is looking for a sharp, reliable and experienced Bookkeeper / Accounts Support person to help keep the financial side of our growing business accurate, organised and well controlled.

This is a small role to begin with approximately 4 hours per week, but it is an important one with a lot of growth potential. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, notices when something does not add up, and is confident keeping accounts tidy, current and accountable.

As Ket Baker continues to grow, there is genuine potential for this role to develop in hours and responsibility.

The role:

You will be responsible for helping us stay on top of our accounts, ensuring invoices, reconciliations and financial records are accurate and up to date.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing and maintaining bookkeeping tasks in Xero between 2 locations
Reconciling bank accounts and transactions accurately and regularly
Reviewing and scrutinising supplier invoices for errors, discrepancies or unusual charges - email
Keeping accounts organised, current and easy to follow
Monitoring account-related emails and responding or following up where required
Identifying missing invoices, overdue items or inconsistencies before they become problems
Supporting the business owners with clear, reliable financial information
Helping improve accounts systems and processes as the business grows
Processing parts of payroll
Potentially BAS and IAS

About you:

You will be thorough, proactive and naturally good at staying across the details. You do not simply process invoices, you pay attention, ask questions and flag things that need looking at.

To be considered, you must have:

A minimum of 3 years’ bookkeeping or accounts experience
Strong, confident and fluent experience using Xero
Experience with bank reconciliations, invoice management and account administration
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to scrutinise invoices carefully
Confidence managing emails and following up financial queries
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
A trustworthy, accountable and proactive approach
Microkeeper and payroll experience a bonus

Experience working with small business, hospitality, food production or retail businesses would be highly regarded.

Hours and opportunity:

Approximately 4 hours per week initially, $32p/h plus super and benefits
Flexible arrangement to be discussed with the right person
Opportunity for the role to grow as the business continues to expand
