With thousands of transactions each year and continued national growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper / Accountant to take ownership of our finance function.

About the Role
This is not a basic bookkeeping position.
We are looking for someone capable of managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the business while working closely with management and our external CPA.
You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our financial records, maintaining strong internal controls, identifying discrepancies, and providing reliable financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts
- Reconciliation of Stripe, Square, Zeller, BPAY and other payment platforms
- Accounts Payable and supplier payments
- Accounts Receivable and debtor management
- Credit card reconciliations
- Payroll processing and payroll reconciliations
- BAS preparation and GST reconciliations
- Superannuation and payroll tax reconciliations
- Month-end and year-end reconciliations
- Preparation of management reports
- Cash flow reporting and forecasting
- General ledger reconciliations
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Fixed asset register maintenance
- Assist with budgeting and financial planning
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors
- Improve financial systems and internal controls
- Identify process improvements and automation opportunities
- Assist management with financial analysis and decision making
About You
You will have:
- Minimum 5 years' Australian bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Strong experience using Xero
- Excellent understanding of Australian GST, BAS and payroll requirements
- Exceptional reconciliation skills
- Strong attention to detail
- High level of integrity and confidentiality
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills
Highly Regarded
- Accounting degree or equivalent qualification
- CPA or CA (completed or working towards)
- Experience managing finance for a business with high transaction volumes
- Experience with multiple payment gateways
- Experience implementing financial controls and improving business processes
