The Patient Accounts Assistant provides high-quality administrative and financial support to the Patient Accounts team in a permanent, part-time capacity (Monday to Friday, 5 hours per day). This entry- to mid-level role focuses on daily financial administration, prompt query resolution, and workflow management, with a clear professional development pathway to master health fund billing and provide comprehensive team coverage.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Administration: Perform daily banking, reconcile patient and hospital accounts, and manage the daily batching of incidental costs.
Communication & Support: Promptly action incoming emails and professionally manage telephone inquiries from patients, health funds, and internal stakeholders.
Queue Management: Monitor and action the ECLIPSE queue to ensure efficient electronic health fund claiming and processing.
Up-skilling & Development: Actively learn end-to-end health fund billing practices to progressively assist and provide backup to the broader accounts team.
Key Requirements
Previous experience in medical administration, patient accounts, or basic bookkeeping/reconciliation.
Familiarity with medical billing systems or exposure to the ECLIPSE platform is highly advantageous.
Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and a proactive willingness to learn complex health fund billing.
Excellent communication skills with a customer-centric approach to phone and email inquiries.
