Are you organised, community-minded and passionate about supporting Aboriginal-led decision-making? The Northern Land Council (NLC) is seeking a Community Planning & Development Project Support Officer to help deliver projects that make a real difference across the Top End.

About the Role:

As the Community Planning & Development Project Support Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting Project Officers and Traditional Owners through effective coordination, communication and administration. You will help organise meetings and consultations, prepare agendas and minutes, assist with project logistics and invoice processing, and support monitoring and evaluation activities that contribute to successful community outcomes.

The role also involves presenting information in plain English (and where appropriate local language support), building positive relationships with stakeholders and assisting communities to make informed decisions about projects that matter to them. Remote travel within the NLC region will form part of the role.

What You Will Bring:

You are someone who enjoys working with people, pays attention to detail and thrives in a role where administration and community engagement come together. You have excellent organisational skills, communicate effectively across diverse cultural settings and are committed to supporting Aboriginal-led planning and decision-making.

In addition, you will have:

Certificate IV in Business, Project Management, Community Development or a related field (or equivalent experience).
At least one year’s experience in a similar administration, project support or community development role.
Experience preparing meeting documentation, agendas, minutes and project records.
An understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal people in the Top End of the Northern Territory.
A current C Class Driver Licence and willingness to travel remotely, including driving a manual 4WD vehicle.

We offer:

A base salary of $71,608 per annum plus 15% superannuation and salary sacrificing up to $15,900 + Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefit up to $2,650 per year.
Other benefits under our Enterprise Agreement include:
- District allowance of up to $4,884 (DA2) per annum for individuals with dependents and $2,678 (DA1) without dependents.
- Generous leave provisions 5 weeks annual leave, 18 days personal leave;
- Paid Christmas close down;
- Upon completion of 12 months of service an Annual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $3,177;
