Primary objective
Supervise the staffing, operational and functional requirements of the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) Unit. Provide advice
on the administration, maintenance, technical performance and quality assurance of the CCTV system. Provide relief for the
CCTV Unit Assistant Director during periods of leave. Understand and provide strategic and specialist technical advice to
management and external stakeholders on the future expansion and enhancement of the CCTV system.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Supervise the CCTV system, including technical configuration, operation, and release of information. Supervise service
delivery against agreed deliverables under the contract for the design, installation and maintenance of the CCTV system,
and ensure compliance with Agency and NTPF policies and procedures.
2. Assist with the development of a program of internal audits to ensure the ongoing development and maintenance of the
CCTV system and provide advice on quality initiatives and policy amendments in relation to interfacing with external
CCTV systems.
3. Assist in the development of high level documentation including Ministerial and management briefings, licence
agreements, lease agreements, and reports.
4. Maintain effective collaborative relationships between the Agency and external stakeholders including other NTG
departments, local government councils, contractors and the private sector.
5. Assist in the development, monitoring and updating of policies and procedures relating to the management and operation
of the CCTV system; ensure compliance with relevant legislation and Agency guidelines. Assist in the development of
internal guidelines and audit the CCTV monitoring practices.
6. Train internal stakeholders on the operation of the CCTV system and procedures and be a champion through the
implementation of new systems and procedures.
7. Supervise and provide administrative functions for all staff of the CCTV Unit.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Substantial experience in and an understanding of CCTV systems, operations and monitoring.
2. Substantial experience in training in order to train staff in operating the CCTV system, databases and required procedures.
3. Substantial experience in report writing in order to report to Parliament, Government and NTPF management.
4. Demonstrated effective oral and written communication, including the ability to negotiate with stakeholders.
5. Knowledge of the relevant legislation, a good understanding of Government procurement procedures and privacy issues.
6. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates NTPF values of being professional, accountable, honest, respectful
and innovative.
Desirable
1. Experience in implementing improvements to an IT based system.
2. Willingness to work outside of normal working hours.
