PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
Manage, procure, implement and supervise technical/operational panel and period contracts that support the delivery of core work for Service
Delivery and Specialised Services for compliance with technical specifications, finance, OHS&E and relevant legislative requirements. Liaise with
contractors and stakeholders to maximise operational performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The “WHAT” to be delivered
Functional
• Collaborate with the Category Manager to develop and manage technical/operational panel and period contracts, including tendering, scope
definition, advertising, assessment, award, and variations, in line with the approved purchasing plan and departmental guidelines.
- Oversee contract performance and compliance with the contract management rules and organisational procurement policies.
- Identify and address recurring contract management issues through continuous monitoring and improvement strategies.
- Communicate contract details and performance outcomes to stakeholders and management.
- Ensure contractor safety, competency, and infrastructure protection through inductions, audits and verify contractor qualifications.
- Review and approve contract related invoices, payments and deductions.
Safety
• Monitor conformance of contractors with WH&S and Power and Water policies, procedures and authorisations.
- Plan risk assessments and hazard management strategies.
- Comply with all legislation and Codes of Practice related to safety and electricity regulations.
- Takes all practicable steps to ensure own safety, the safety of PWC staff, contractors, the public and their property.
- Record non-compliances with safety practices and subsequent corrective actions.
- Protect the environment in accordance with corporate standards and operational legislative compliance.
Customer
• Interact with customers and the community as required in regard to all service maintenance and contract activities, always acting in accordance
with Power Service’s Code of Conduct and values.
- Provide clear communication to customers on future works and the impact of these to services.
- Establish reliable stakeholder and customer contacts.
- Manage customer complaints and issues as required.
- Maintain good relationships with suppliers.
