What you’ll do
As a key member of a highly innovative and collaborative team, the Range Optimisation Analyst plays a leading role in tailoring product offerings to communities across Australia. This involves partnering with various teams to optimise space and range using technology, improving range effectiveness, range efficiency and range perception through data-driven analysis, generating impactful insights and
identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
The role works closely with the Commercial Team to implement strategic category, range, and space visions that provide value to our commercial & customers.

Drive Range & Space Strategy: Spearhead collaborative range optimisation strategies across Commercial, Merchandising, and Customer Value teams, translating them into compelling presentations that align with strategic priorities.

Master Optimisation Technology: Harness cutting-edge capabilities like Space Planning, Planogram Generator, and Assortment Recommendation to govern tactics and deliver efficient, store-specific ranges that maximise profitability and efficiency.

Transform Ranging Principles: Focus on refining ranging frameworks to enhance range efficiency, effectiveness, and perception while conducting in-depth analytics to explain performance drivers and influence distribution.

Extract Data-Driven Insights: Synthesise qualitative and quantitative data across platforms such as Quantium, Blue Yonder, and Shopper Intelligence, while using problem-solving and root-cause analysis to address store-level operational challenges.

Foster Collaboration & Continuous Growth: Build trusted relationships across the Woolworths Group ecosystem (including Metro) to unlock commercial opportunities, while continually driving process enhancements and technical capabilities.
What you’ll bring

A minimum of 3 years experience in relevant roles (eg: merchandising, category analyst, data & insight analyst, finance analyst, pricing analyst)

Proficient understanding of Google & Microsoft systems, with intermediate/advanced excel functions (eg: pivot tables, formulas, conditional formatting)

Basic to intermediate GCP and SQL knowledge

Knowledgeable in agency datasets (Quantium, Shopper Intelligence, Circana or equivalent datasets advantageous

Experience in SAP and Blue Yonder (JDA) Space Planning with exposure to PG - Advantageous

Understands the FMCG industry and commercial processes of Woolworths and Suppliers - beneficial, but not strictly required
