The Opportunity:

Operate your Loader with precision and ensure the delivery of road maintenance and construction projects
Minimum Base Salary of $72,049.12 per annum + 12% superannuation contribution

About the Role:

Are you a skilled loader operator with a passion for your work? Barcaldine Regional Council is looking for a seasoned loader operator to join our Aramac works crew. In this role, you will be essential in ensuring our road maintenance and construction projects are completed to a high standard.

Location: This position is based in Aramac with Regional work and travel as required.

Classification Level: Level 6 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award – State 2017 and the Barcaldine Regional Council Certified Agreement 2025.

Wage: Minimum base salary of $72,049.12 per annum + Superannuation (up to 12%) and relevant approved allowances.

Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.

Hours of work: 76 hours over 9 days with a rostered day off (RDO) every fortnight.

Leave: Five (5) weeks annual leave per annum + 17.5% loading. Fifteen (15) days Personal Leave (sick leave) per annum.

What You'll Need:

Minimum QLD Class 'C' Drivers Licence (MR Licence highly regarded);
Current Construction Card (White/Blue Card);
Minimum two (2) years' machinery operation experience;
Strong understanding of construction and maintenance project requirements;
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications;
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Proven ability to safely and effectively perform hazardous manual tasks, such as lifting, digging, shovelling, and using powered tools.
