Keep production moving in a hands-on Crusher Operator role with North Kerry Group
North Kerry Group is looking for an experienced Crusher Operator to join our team on a 2/1 roster. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a hands-on operational role and takes pride in keeping plant and production running safely, efficiently and reliably.
Working as part of our operations team, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of crushing and screening plant, monitoring plant performance, carrying out routine checks and working closely with maintenance and site personnel to minimise downtime and keep production on track. If you’re reliable, safety-focused and experienced around crushing or processing equipment, we’d like to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing
- Operating crushing, screening and associated plant equipment safely and efficiently
- Monitoring plant performance and adjusting settings to maintain production targets and product quality
- Carrying out pre-starts, routine inspections and operational checks on plant and equipment
- Identifying and reporting mechanical issues, blockages, wear or faults affecting production
- Assisting with clearing blockages, changing screens, belts and wear parts where required
- Working closely with maintenance personnel during breakdowns, shutdowns and routine servicing
- Monitoring feed rates, stockpiles, product sizes and general plant output
- Loading and feeding plant where required, depending on site operations and equipment used
- Maintaining housekeeping standards around the plant, walkways and work areas
- Completing production records, pre-start books, job notes and required documentation accurately
- Following site procedures, isolations and safety requirements at all times
- Contributing to a safe, productive and team-focused work environment
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience operating crushing, screening, quarrying, processing or similar fixed/mobile plant equipment
- Good understanding of crushing plant operations, material flow and safe operating procedures
- Ability to identify plant issues early and respond appropriately to minimise downtime
- Strong awareness of safety, hazards and housekeeping requirements in an industrial environment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, proactive attitude with a strong work ethic
- Good communication skills and willingness to support the wider team
- Current driver’s licence
- Loader / excavator / skid steer experience highly regarded depending on site requirements
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening if required
Desirable tickets / experience
- Loader ticket and experience feeding crushing plant
- Excavator, skid steer or other mobile plant tickets
- Working at Heights
- Confined Space
- Forklift ticket
- Basic mechanical aptitude or experience assisting with crusher maintenance
- Experience in quarrying, crushing, recycling, mining, civil or production environments
- Experience working in a fast-paced operational or 24/7 production environment
