$62,275 - $68,425 per annum pro-rata, plus 25% loading, plus 15.4% superannuation

Position Overview
The role is part of the Court Support and Improvement Team. This team provides high-quality Court support services to Judges, Registrars and their staff, and to the general public and legal practitioners.

Major Activities
You will be required to carry out a diverse range of tasks and perform a variety of courtroom activities including: setting up courtrooms, opening and closing Court, handing up documents, swearing in witnesses, operating courtroom technology (including video conferencing equipment) and supporting digital litigation practices (such as online hearings and live streaming) From time to time, you may also be required to assist other Court Operations staff with administrative tasks.

Whilst this a casual position, it is expected that Court Officers are available a minimum of three days a week.

Formal Qualifications
Legal qualifications or previous experience working in a legal environment would be highly regarded but is not essential as full training is provided.

Eligibility
Employment with the Court is subject to the conditions prescribed in the Public Service Act 1999, and the following:

Australian citizenship – the successful applicant must hold Australian citizenship;
Security and character clearance – the successful applicant must satisfy a Police Records Check, and may also be required to complete security clearances during the court of their employment;
Health clearance – the successful applicant may be required to complete a health declaration or attend a medical assessment to confirm their fitness for duty.

Interested candidates who have received a redundancy benefit from an APS agency are welcome to apply but note that they cannot be engaged until their redundancy benefit period has expired.
