The opportunity
Start your career in facilities management as a Property and Facilities Services Officer supporting Australia's national security. ASIO is looking for motivated individuals from all backgrounds to fill several entrylevel positions within its diverse property and facilities services teams. This includes corporate portfolio management, construction programs, facility support services and facilities maintenance.
A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.
Responsibilities
As an AE4 Property and Facilities Services Officer in ASIO, you will:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support across dynamic accommodation and construction project management initiatives.
- Oversee the management of security containers and secure lock systems.
- Actively contribute to emergency management protocols and activities.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless facility operations.
- Coordinate logistical facility support to ensure the successful delivery of corporate events.
- Manage mailroom and loading dock operations, including the secure processing and distribution of goods (may require some lifting and manual handling of oversized items).
- Facilitate secure and efficient property relocations.
- Coordinate and schedule a diverse range of cleaning and maintenance activities.
- Triage, prioritise, and dispatch facility work requests to ensure timely resolution.

Skills and qualifications
Qualifications or experience in facilities, trades, finance, leasing, procurement, contracts or project management are desirable, but not essential.

Use of AI in recruitment processes

The recruitment selection process
Our selection process is rigorous and extensive. All employment decisions and selection processes at ASIO are based on merit principles and candidates must be prepared to undergo various selection stages. Employment conditions
Employment is under the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Act 1979. Conditions of service are similar to those applying in the Australian Public Service. We recognise entitlements accrued under the Public Service Act 1999 and provide for continuation of superannuation under the Commonwealth schemes. Salary packaging arrangements are also available.
