'Bakers Wanted' for a brand new Bakers Delight store at Delacombe Village, Ballarat.

Bakers Delight is Australia’s leading bakery franchise, with a vast network of bakeries in many communities across the country. We value our staff and customers and work hard to provide a delightful experience to everyone we meet.

We are seeking a number of qualified bakers to join us in an opportunity in a brand new Bakers Delight store in Delacombe, Ballarat. The store is located in the growth corridor west of Ballarat central. We are seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic bakers who will bring delight to all of our customers by making quality bread and other delicious products. The Baker at Bakers Delight is responsible for managing daily bakery operations and delivering consistently high-quality, fresh, and visually appealing baked products that align with our brand standards and customer expectations. The role involves preparing doughs, batters, and fillings, operating bakery equipment including ovens, mixers, and proofing chambers, maintaining consistency in taste, texture, portion control, and presentation, monitoring product quality at all stages of production, and ensuring strict compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.

The Baker also manages ingredient inventory, coordinates with other kitchen staff, minimises product wastage, and contributes to product development, while working efficiently in a fast-paced production environment to support smooth operations and maintain high team standards.

Essential Criteria:

Proven experience as a Baker or in a commercial bakery production role for at least 3-4 years
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, production processes, and bakery operations
Proficiency with bakery machinery and equipment
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment
Strong commitment to food safety and hygiene standards
Positive attitude, reliability, and a team player mentality

Key Responsibilities

Organise and oversee the preparation and baking processes according to production schedules and recipes
Prepare and bake a wide range of breads, pastries, sweet treats and savoury options including pizzas and scrolls while maintaining consistent flavour, quality, and portion standards
Develop and introduce new products and recipes based on seasonal ingredients and market demand
Check and maintain product quality throughout preparation, baking, cooling, and packaging stages
Operate and maintain bakery equipment including ovens, mixers, proofing chambers, and production machinery
Monitor ingredient inventory, place orders for supplies, and control food costs and wastage
Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations are always followed
Work collaboratively with other production and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe bakery production area
Provide support and guidance to junior staff members where required, this will include training and mentoring apprentices
