We have invested in a state-of-the-art industrial donut line to support our growing production plans. We offer a friendly, dynamic working environment in a purpose-built facility. We are looking for a skilled Machine Operator to work in this high-volume industrial pie production line . Pastry experience will be ideal.
Key Purpose of Role
Reporting to the Pies Manager, and working with a team of Bakers and Production Operators, the Machine Operator/Baker will ensure the production line runs efficiently with minimal down time, scheduling cleaning program & preventative maintenance as required. You will ensure the production line is performing at optimum levels also being responsible for trouble shooting to maintain daily production.
Major Responsibilities
Your major responsibilities will include:
- The set-up, operation and basic maintenance of the pie production, ensuring efficient running throughout the production schedule
- Daily cleaning & periodic deep cleaning of the entire pie line
- Ensuring the industrial donut line runs smoothly at full capacity to meet daily KPI's
- Setting up the line to start production & conduct effective preoperational start up checks
- Controlling and adjusting the machine settings to ensure production optimisation, speed, efficiencies and the elimination of waste in line with lean manufacturing principles
- Ensuring all required raw materials are readily available during all times
- Understand donut quality parameters & detect issues
- Monitoring production and quality control to detect and correct problems to minimise production disruptions
- Ensure operators complete all production & traceability records daily.
- Liaising with other members of the Production team to formulate objectives and understand requirements, participate in daily & weekly meetings, review production & performance.
- Implementing and overseeing workplace safety processes
- Preparing, organising and mixing ingredients for use in kitchen
- Work on continuous improvement strategies such as waste reduction & efficiency enhancement
- Some required weekend work
Key Skills and Competencies
These include:
- Trade qualification or equivalent experience
- Proven experience working in a food manufacturing environment as a Machine Operator
- Extensive understanding of food quality standards and health & safety regulations
- Ability to work at a fast pace whilst maintaining safety and quality standards
- Experience in reporting on key production metrics
- Demonstrated skills in planning and organising
- Outstanding communication skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Adaptability
- Excellent attention to detail
Job Types: Full-time, Casual
Pay: $32.00 per hour
