The Flour House is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Baker to lead our bakery production team at our Highett bakery.
We are a busy Artisan Bakery with a reputation for quality and traditional baking methods. At The Flour House, we mill our own flour in-house, “just as the name suggests” using grain sourced from Victorian Farmers. We take pride in producing real artisan bread and pastries, fresh every day.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Baker, and natural leader, who is ready to take ownership of an already well-established business.
About the role: As Head Baker, you will be responsible for leading the bakery team, and overseeing the daily production, while also contributing to product development, and maintaining the quality and creativity our customers expect.
This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, organised, calm under pressure, and has great scientific knowledge of the baking process.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the production team and managing workflow across the entire baking process.
Training, mentoring and supporting the team.
Creating a positive, respectful and productive team environment.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A Certificate III or Certificate IV in Baking, Pastry or a relevant field.
At least 4 years of full-time post-qualification experience.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a bakery or production environment.
Strong knowledge of sourdough and viennoiserie production.
The ability to lead, train and motivate a team.
Excellent attention to detail, and pride in producing consistent, high-quality products.
