This is an exciting opportunity for a Speech Pathologists to join our supportive team delivering high quality services to paediatric patients at Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals.This temporary position provides Speech Pathology services to paediatric patients with swallowing and communication impairments across acute, subacute, and outpatient settings. Clinicians will gain exposure to develop skills in instrumental assessments, including paediatric VFSS. While the focus of this role is paediatrics, there may be future opportunities to rotate into adult caseloads, including exposure to adult VFSS and FEES, depending on service needs.

The successful applicant will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, support service development, and work collaboratively within specialist multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes for children, young people, and their families. Flexibility is essential, with an expectation that clinicians work across a variety of inpatient and outpatient paediatric streams. Participation in weekend rosters and support across multiple sites may occasionally be required to meet service demands. You will be well supported with access to supervision, professional development, and a highly engaged team.

Are You the Right Fit?
In this paediatric role, you’ll have the opportunity to develop a diverse and highly specialised clinical skillset across a broad range of hospital based paediatric caseloads. This includes supporting infants, children, and young people with feeding, swallowing, and complex communication needs across inpatient and outpatient settings.

You’ll work within a variety of paediatric clinical specialties, supported closely by experienced senior clinicians who provide guidance, supervision, and opportunities for reflective practice. This environment allows you to grow your confidence, expand your expertise, and continue developing as a clinician within a genuinely collaborative and supportive team.

The role also includes a strong emphasis on quality improvement, giving you the chance to contribute to service development initiatives while enhancing your own professional practice and clinical leadership skills.

Selection Criteria

Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in Speech Pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
Demonstrated clinical knowledge, experience and skills in communication and swallowing assessment/management in paediatric and/or adult caseloads.
Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Demonstrated commitment to continued professional development and commitment to evidence based practice.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills in modifying and adapting assessments and interventions to meet the needs of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Populations.
. Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
