Join the Women and Children's Health team at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospital, primarily based at the Blacktown campus, where you'll make a lasting difference to the lives of women, infants, children and their families. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, you'll be supported by experienced social workers who are committed to professional development, clinical excellence and person-centred care.

What you'll be doing
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate social worker to join our Women and Children’s Health service, supporting babies, children and families in a fast-paced hospital setting. Working in partnership with families and multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to improving immediate and lifelong health outcomes through holistic, strengths-based and trauma-informed care.

Provide comprehensive social work assessment, intervention and care planning for babies, children, women and their families.
Manage a varied caseload including complex matters such as child protection, domestic and family violence, guardianship, grief and loss, and other psychosocial issues.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, person-centred care and achieve the best possible outcomes for patients and families.
Participate in clinical supervision, professional development, quality improvement initiatives and student education.
Contribute to the development of evidence-based practice, policies and procedures that enhance the quality of care across the service.

Essential Criteria

Qualification : Degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW)

Selection Criteria

Demonstrated clinical experience or understanding of the needs of clients accessing the health care system.
Demonstrated understanding of issues associated with working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse client group.
Demonstrated well-developed time management skills with excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing skills.
Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of quality assurance and / or clinical practice improvement activities.
Ability to participate in the After Hours Crisis On Call Social Work Service.
