This outreach role represents the expansion phase of a unique, highly successful 2-year nurse-led pilot program currently underway within the CESPHN region (stretching across Central, Eastern, and Inner West Sydney down to the Sutherland Shire). The program delivers vital primary healthcare directly to women and children experiencing Domestic and Family Violence (DFV). The focus is on reducing the secondary impacts of violence.
Operating as an autonomous mobile clinician, the successful applicant will provide high-quality primary care and child health monitoring in non-traditional community settings. General Practitioner and Nurse Practitioner (NP) supervision is available; hence we warmly welcome interest from all experienced nurses, ideally with a primary care and child health background. Above all, you must share a genuine passion for working within the domestic violence support sector and have a deep understanding of trauma-informed care.
Wages commensurate with NSW Health rates for the right applicant.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Clinical Care Delivery
· Primary healthcare assessments, treatments, and preventative interventions for women and children in refuge setting
· Conduct age-appropriate child health checks, developmental screening (Child Health expertise would be highly regarded)
· Identify complex medical needs and provide care navigation
· identify and assist particular challenges faced by women and child who have experience violence and trauma
Essential Criteria
1. Current unconditional AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1). Endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner, or suitability for Clinical Nurse Consultant status, is highly regarded.
Desirable Criteria

2. Significant time management expertise and a high level of flexibility
3. Female *Leichhardt Women's Community Health Centre (LWCHC) holds an exemption under the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW) and only employs female workers for all positions.
4. Experience working with vulnerable populations, such as sector experience, migrant and refugee, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
