You will be based at Westmead Hospital, one of NSW’s leading tertiary referral hospitals, providing world-class care across a diverse and growing community.

You’ll join a supportive and collaborative Admissions and Bookings team where accuracy, compassion, and service excellence are at the heart of everything we do.

Work within a busy, high-performing hospital environment supporting elective surgery and outpatient pathways
Be part of a team committed to delivering timely, patient-centred administrative services
Engage with a wide range of clinical, administrative, and external stakeholders
Contribute to continuous improvement in booking and admissions processes
Support a culture of respect, confidentiality, and cultural awareness

What you'll be doing
In this role, you will manage and coordinate elective admissions and waiting lists, ensuring patients are booked accurately and efficiently in line with policy and procedural requirements.

Process and review Recommendation for Admission (RFA) forms, ensuring compliance with policy requirements
Enter and maintain accurate data on electronic waiting lists and booking systems
Schedule clinic and theatre appointments and coordinate patient communications via phone, email, and mail
Liaise effectively with medical, nursing, administrative, and external stakeholders including private clinics and community services
Monitor, audit, and maintain waiting lists to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and service standards are met

Relevant experience in admissions and bookings processes
Experience with computerised patient administration systems
Sound knowledge of NSW Health Waiting Time and Elective Surgery Policy
Experience in a customer service role demonstrating effective interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to work productively within a team, and to work autonomously when required
Demonstrated time management and organisational skills to manage competing priorities.
Demonstrated understanding of Medical Terminology
